Review – La Gourmetteria – Third Week is the charm!

Walking through Lambs Conduit Street and seeing an inviting, cosy spot, we decided to pop in for a lunch.  We were greeted warmly and immediately met with lovely smells of spices.

La Gourmetteria is new to the area having only been open 3 weeks.  The husband and wife owners moved from Italy, and Marie decided to leave her career in finance and open this gourmet cafe/restaurant.

On offer was a carrot and coriander soup (£3.90), 3 seasonal salads which could be mixed – green salad, greek salad, or sweet potato salad, and a parmigiana served with salad leaves (£6.90).  The soup was delicious with a nice balance of spice and pureed texture.  The parmigiana, a layered eggplant and cheese bake, was simply delicious.

Though a bit steep at £3.50 for a small glass, I could not pass up the fresh squeezed orange juice.  La Gourmetteria serves coffee from Miscela d’Oro, a Sicilian brand, that is the perfect end to a meal.

La Gourmetteria has an excellent charcuterie and cheese selection displayed in a spotlessly clean glass case easy for customers to view and choose from.

Customers can pick up Italian dry goods and wine from a selection onsite.

If looking for a quick bite of well-prepared food or a place to rest during a shop on Lambs Conduit Street, look no further.

La Gourmetteria is also open several nights a week, Wed – Sat, I believe, and offers additional seating in a more intimate area in the back.
